“You Don’t Need a Weatherman”

  • Wednesday, January 16, 2019 • 6:00 pm
  • Women's Building, Ann W. Olin Women's Building

Internationally recognized artist Iñigo Manglano-Ovalle discusses his practice, including the recent installation, Weather Field No. 2, commissioned for Washington University’s Art on Campus program. Installed just north of Olin Library, the site-specific artwork comprises 49 telescoping stainless steel poles, weather vanes, and anemometers. Weather Field No. 2 reflects the type of sophisticated sculptures that combine technology with natural phenomena for which Manglano-Ovalle is known.

A private reception with the artist will be held for Sam Fox School Eliot Society members and Kemper Art Museum members at the Director’s Committee level and above after the lecture. Contact Katie Mendez at kmendez@wustl.edu or 314.935.3683 for more information.

Lecture is free and open to the public.
