  • Wednesday, March 30, 2022 • 12:30 pm
  • Virtual Event

Voting rights are widely recognized as the cornerstone of democracy, but they are under threat from concerted efforts to limit voting. This event will feature discussions of federal and state voting-rights bills and related developments within the states. Speakers will include Barbara Arnwine (Transformative Justice Coalition), Elizabeth Hira (Brennan Center for Justice), and Denise Lieberman (Missouri Voter Protection Coalition). Gena Gunn McClendon (Center for Social Development, Brown School, Washington University) will moderate the event. The event is the first within Empowering Voting & Democracy, a series showcasing experts on voting rights and the democratic process. Organized by the Center for Social Development in the Brown School at Washington University, the series will elevate the work of those fighting for democracy and engage participants in efforts to expand equitable access to democratic institutions
