Martino Stierli, The Philip Johnson Chief Curator of Architecture and Design at The Museum of Modern Art, will deliver a lecture addressing photomontage as a quintessential means of representation in modernity. The lecture will focus on the ways in which architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe (1886–1969), drawing from techniques of Dadaist juxtaposition and reassembly, used photomontage as a tool of investigation toward a new conception of space.
