Missouri Chamber Music Festival Composer Encounter: The Music of Hannah Lash

The Missouri Chamber Music Festival (MOCM) in partnership with Washington University welcomes composer and harpist, Hannah Lash to St. Louis.

Hannah Lash: Folksongs (2011) for harp, piccolo, percussion
Schumann: Waldszenen
Lash: Start (2018) for solo snare drum
Lash: Frayed (2009), for string quartet
Debussy: Sonata for flute, harp, and viola

Artists featured include harpist Hannah Lash; percussionist Michael Compitello of New Morse Code; flutist Jennifer Nitchman; and violinist Angie Smart.

Known as St. Louis’s “local treasure,” the Missouri Chamber Music Festival (MOCM), presents a Composer Encounter illuminating the extraordinary and diverse nuances of a unique composer/performer, Hannah Lash. In keeping with MOCM’s mission of diverse programming including new and commissioned works, this exciting weekend of events features newly written works as well as pieces by composers influential to the compositional voice of Hannah Lash. MOCM artists featured are nationally recognized chamber musicians from around the US that take residency each June to perform in the Missouri Chamber Music Festival.
