Did you know… October is Disability Employment Awareness Month?!

“Let’s make WashU knowledgeABLE.”

Igniting a change in the culture of disability.

Cornerstone: The Learning Center at Washington University in St. Louis has created a social awareness campaign for the month of October in honor of Disability Employment Awareness Month.

Please join us for our events: Engage, Educate & Empower!

Event: Engage

Thursday, Oct. 12th 12:00pm-1:30pm at Cornerstone (South Forty – Gregg House) *lunch provided 

Engage in new dialogue around disability. 

During this event, there will be an introductory presentation about Disability Employment Awareness, followed by an activity that engages new open and inclusive dialogue between faculty/staff and students at Wash U.

 

Event: Educate

Thursday, Oct. 19th 12:00pm-1:30pm at Cornerstone (South Forty – Gregg House) *lunch provided 

Educate our community of learners on disability awareness.

During this event, there will be a shortened introductory presentation about Disability Employment Awareness, followed by an interactive educational learning about disability accommodation basics and accessibility at Wash U.

 

Event: Empower

Thursday, Oct. 30th 12:00pm-1:30pm at Cornerstone (South Forty – Gregg House) *lunch provided 

Empower advocates to create an inclusive campus environment for individuals with disabilities.

During this event, there will be a shortened introductory presentation about Disability Employment Awareness, followed by empowering stories from students with disabilities on our campus. You will learn and see how they have empowered themselves and those around them to be advocates for an inclusive campus environment at Wash U.
