Jon Else, filmmaker and North Gate Chair in Journalism at the University of California, Berkeley, will be the featured guest for the Henry Hampton Film Series, co-sponsored by Washington University Libraries, the Missouri History Museum and Cinema St. Louis. Else will discuss his new book, “True South: Henry Hampton and ‘Eyes on the Prize,’ the Landmark Television Series That Reframed the Civil Rights Movement” (books will be available for purchase). The event will include a screening of an episode of “Eyes on the Prize” chosen by Mr. Else, a discussion about his time working as a series producer, and previously unavailable excerpts of “Eyes on the Prize” material available in the Washington University Libraries’ Film & Media Archive.
