Health and Economic Disparities in the Latinx Community

The coronavirus pandemic has exposed glaring health and economic disparities among communities of color – and the societal systems that are failing them due to structural racism. Join us for a series that highlights multiple perspectives and draws on community leadership and evidence-based knowledge to inform the path toward racial and health equity.

Withstanding the COVID-19 pandemic comes at a greater cost for people who identify as Latinx or Hispanic. The Latinx population accounts for almost one third of cases and a disproportionate number of deaths, and are especially hard hit by the economic consequences of the pandemic. During this episode, community leaders, organizers, and researchers will elevate these issues, reflect on the response, and discuss opportunities for closing the grievous gaps in physical and economic health for the Latinx community.
