Keynote address and conversation with special guest Janice Mirikitani, poet and activist who was interned along with her family in a WWII-era camp for Japanese-Americans. She will speak on “Giving Power to Voices Endangered by Silence.“ Reception and book signing following event.

Dialogue and opportunities to engage with university colleagues. Programming includes excerpts from the PBS documentary People Like Us: Social Class in America, a film that raises provocative questions about one of our nation’s most enduring divisions.
A panel discussion of St. Louis higher education leaders will reflect on the topic: “Forging a Collaborative Path for Inclusion and Change in St. Louis: The Role of Higher Education.”
