Banumathi Subramaniam – Decolonizing Botany: From the Herbarium to the Plantarium

Banu Subramaniam, professor and chair of the Women, Gender, Sex and Sexuality department of UMass Amherst, presents “Decolonizing Botany: From the Herbarium to the Plantarium”. Professor Subramaniam has written a great number of publications including: Holy Science: The Biopolitics of Hindu Nationalism (University of Washington Press, 2019), and Ghost Stories for Darwin: The Science of Variation and the Politics of Diversity (University of Illinois Press, 2014) – winner of the Ludwik Fleck Prize 2016. The presentation “Decolonizing Botany: From the Herbarium to the Plantarium” is something she is currently working on.
